Pathways Initiative
Over the past year, UNiSON has collaborated with Union and Anson public schools, Wingate University, and South Piedmont Community College, as well as chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, and local employers to develop pathways in the areas with the most job opportunities — those that lead to sustainable, long-term careers.
Through this work, the initiative identified the following job clusters in Union and Anson counties:
-
Healthcare
-
Business/Finance
-
Manufacturing
-
Construction
-
Information Technology
The initiative developed pathways from high school through advanced degrees that local residents can follow to build successful careers in these fields.

Credential Registry
Additionally, UNiSON was awarded a grant from Credential Registry, which allowed us to publish all course offerings at Wingate University and South Piedmont Community College, as well as credential offerings at Anson County and Union County schools, in the Credential Registry platform. This makes it possible for anyone to search for courses offered at these institutions in one place.
To date, the Healthcare, Business/Finance, and Manufacturing pathways have already been published in Credential Registry.
